:: Week 1 Weigh In::

I'm resetting the week count, since it's been well over a year since the last one. I'm 20 pounds heavier than I was when I started this blog originally, so I've got even more work ahead of me. I currently weigh 226.8 pounds, with a 40" waistline. My BMI is 29.1

From the Standford Hospital website:
According to the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI), a BMI from 18.5 to 24.9 is considered normal while a BMI of more than 25 is considered overweight. A person is considered obese if the BMI is above 30, and morbidly obese if the BMI is above 40.
So I'm definitely overweight, but am just shy of being obese. Very, very bad. I actually took the time to measure out my breakfast according to the "serving size" listed on the side of the box. Turns out that a serving of my cereal and milk is 330 calories, and 8.5 grams of fat (13% DRV). And I usually eat a bowl twice as big. Looks like I need to find a different cereal.

Finally, here's the starting weigh in pics. You can actually see the excess "me" in comparison to the original weigh in pics from so long ago.

In the beginning, there was flubber...

Today, on my 32nd birthday, I'm initiating this journey. I'll be posting regular updates on my progress, for family and friends to check-in and observe that I haven't slacked off. I'll do a weekly weigh in and photo update. So, here's where it all begins:

Ugh. I have quite a lot of work ahead of me. My starting weight is 210 lbs. Wish me luck.
